Past Perfect Tense
過去完成式以過去某時間之前已經完成的或仍在繼續的動作。
主詞＋had＋過去分詞
- 表示過去某時之前已經完成的動作。
- I had arrived at the station before the train left.
我在火車開走之前抵達了車站。
- I had arrived at the station before the train left.
- 表示過去某時之前持續著的狀態。
- We had had that car for ten years before it broke down.
我們有台車在故障之前開了十年。
- We had had that car for ten years before it broke down.
- 表示過去某時之前的經驗。
- She had never seen an owl before she moved to Yilan.
她搬去宜蘭之前從未見過貓頭鷹。
- She had never seen an owl before she moved to Yilan.
- 表示過去甲時間到過去乙時間之間的動作。
- He had visited his Tainan friends once before he moved in with them.
他搬去跟台南的朋友們同住之前曾經拜訪過他們一次。
