  1. dozen 一打

    dozen的意思是一打，也就是十二個的意思。
    • I want a dozen umbrellas.
      我要一打雨傘。
  2. score 二十scorce代表二十。
    「聖經．詩篇」第九十章有說 The years of our life are three score and ten，三個二十年加十年是七十年，這句話的意思是我們的人生有七十年，所以七十年可以代表一輩子。
    • I'll love you three score years and ten.
      我會愛你一輩子。


    • He has written more than a score of books.
      他寫了超過二十本書。
  3. gross 籮、十二打

    gross代表籮，一籮等於十二打，合計一百四十四個。
    gross的單複數同形。
    • There are three gross of candles in the church.
      教堂裡有兩籮蠟蠋。

            1. 分子為1

              分子為一時，分子讀基數詞，分母讀序數詞。
              • 1/2 → a half、one half 二分之一
                1/3 → a third、one-third 三分之一
                1/4 → a quarter、 one-fourth 四分之一
                1/5 → one-fifth 五分之一1/6 → one-sixth 六分之一1/7 → one-seventh 七分之一1/8 → one-eighth 八分之一1/9 → one-ninth 九分之一
            2. 分子大於2
              分子大於二時，分子讀基數詞，分母讀序數詞並加上s。
              • 2/3 → two-thirds 三分之二3/5 → three-fifths 五分之三4/9 →  four-ninth 九分之四
            3. 數字較大的分數

              分數的數字比較大時，以「分子＋over ＋分母」表示。
              • 77/234 → seventy-seven over two hundred thirty-two 二百三十四分之七十七
            4. 分數含整數

              分數含整數時，整數之後用and連接分數。
              • 2又3/5 → two and three-fifths
                8又1/4 → eight and one-fourth
              • 分數含整數
                分數含整數時，整數之後用and連接分數。
              • 分數的大數字分數的數字比較大時，以「分子＋over ＋分母」表示。

              基數詞

              基數詞就是用來計數的數字。
              1. 從0~19 

                基數詞的一到十二是不同的單字，十三到十九則是由「個位數的數詞」加上「teen」組合而成。

                0 → zero、naught
                1 →one  
                2 → two    
                3 → three   
                4 → four   
                5 → five   
                6 → six   
                7 → seven   
                8 → eight   
                9 → nine 
                10 → ten 
                11 → eleven 
                12 → twelve 
                13 → thirteen  
                14 → fourteen 
                15 → fifteen 
                16 → sixteen 
                17 → seventeen 
                18 → eighteen 
                19 → nineteen

              2. 從20到100的十位數  

                由基數詞的「個位數詞」加「ty」所組成。

                20 → twenty 
                30 → thirty 
                40 → forty 
                50 → fifty 
                60 → sixty 
                70 → seventy 
                80 → eighty 
                90 → ninety 
                100 → one hundred

              3. 從21到99

                十位數與個位數以hyphen符號 - 連結。
                21→ twenty-one
                32→thirty-three
                45→ forty-five
                58→fifty-eight99→ninety-nine

              4. 從1,000到100,000

                1,000 → one thousand
                一萬 10,000 → ten thousand
                十萬 100,000 → one hundred thousand  

              5. 999,999之內的數字

                千位數與百萬數之間加逗號（也可不加），百位數與十位數之間加 hyphen。 

                1,234 →one thousand, two hundred and thirty-four 
                8,756→eight thousand, seven hundred and fifty-six 
                64,321→ sixty-four thousand, three hundred and twenty-one 
                999,999 → nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine

              6. 一百萬以上

                百萬以上的單位有「million 百萬」、「billion 十億」、「trillion 兆」

                1,000,000 → one million 一百萬 
                10,000,000 → ten million 一千萬 
                100,000,000 → one hundred million 一億 
                1,000,000,000 → one billion 十億 
                10,000,000,000 → ten billion 一百億 
                100,000,000,000 → one hundred billion 一千億 
                1,000,000,000,000 → one trillion 一兆 
                9,999,999,999,999 → nine trillion nine hundred ninty-nine billion nine hundred ninty-nine million nine hundred ninety-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine 九兆九千九百九十九億九千九百九十九萬九千九百九十九
